Teamspeak for Dummies

Teamspeak (TS) is a program on the computer that we use to speak to each other using our voices rather than typing all the time back and fourth. It work especially well in games that require a lot of teamwork and even games that make it hard to see your friend's chat messages unless you're really paying attention to it.

It also prevents death... Not really sad, but true, in the many MMORPGs that we play it is always hard to type to each other while you're in an AoE party and a lot of times will get you killed if you're trying to. TS lets you talk while you play so you don't have to struggle not to die while typing!

Here is a quick and easy description of how to connect to and use TS:

After the program is installed and opened you should see this window.

Then at the top of the window you should click on "Connections" then "Connect" and you'll then see a window like this.

Then follow these instructions:

Right click in the white area of the window, a little menu should appear, select "add server".
Enter your server label (label can be any name you want).
Enter the server address for the server you're wanting to join.
OrdoDraconis server information is at the top of this post.
Enter your nickname, you can put any nickname you want, it will be the name displayed inside the server when connected.
Be sure and check the box that says "Anonymous" if you haven't already registered with the server.
If you are registered you would enter the user name and password you provided when you registered.
Push connect, you should hear "Link engaged".

Then you can double click on the channel you want to move to and we can help you set up your mic and such so you can talk with us!
